The best thing about being a Knaresborough business is … being part of the Knaresborough business community. There’s a real sense of support and I love that. Plus, the town is a fantastic place to live – I’m a proud Knaresborian since 1998!

Did you know … ‘Bills’ by Lunchmoney Lewis is the song I’ve had requested most in 2016. It’s popular with everyone from 6 to 96 !

My favourite thing about my business is … getting the opportunity to meet new people. Because my work is mostly private functions, I get the chance to build a relationship with my clients and that connection results in a fantastic event for both me and the customer … and my least favourite is … constantly transporting my equipment everywhere. At least it gives me a good upper body workout though!

The most embarrassing thing that’s happened to me whilst at work was … at a 5th birthday party I was doing a warm up with the kids. Unbeknownst to me, one of them crawled behind me. I stepped backwards and went flying, much to the amusement of all the children!

When I was young, I always wanted to be … a performer. I wanted to be on the stage and was very into music. I played the trombone and a bit of piano and definitely went through a phase of wanting to be a jazz musician  too !

If I could choose to do any other job in the world today it would be … an actor. I’m still hoping I’ll get the James Bond call… who wouldn’t want to do that!?

One piece of business advice I’d like to give is … It sounds simple, but to be nice to people. I’m a great believer in treating others as you would wish to be treated yourself and I apply that to all aspects of my life, not just my business.

My biggest inspiration is … Jeff Wayne. When I was a child I was totally obsessed with the War of the Worlds Musical. I still am – I went to see the new version in London earlier this year. The power and drama of the music grabbed me straight away and inspired me to create and perform music myself.

5 words that I would use to describe my business are … Fun, bespoke, dynamic, interactive and personal
